Signs of Subpar Air Quality in Your Home

blowing-noseIf your air conditioner is not working during the summer season, then you’ll probably notice the problem right away. Same with your heater in the summer. A heater blowing cool air is obviously going to lead to problems in your home and with your comfort. What about your indoor air quality, though? Is it as high as it should be? Do you do anything to keep it at a high level? Have you even really considered it much?

If not, then now is the time. It sounds surprising, but the fact is that the air quality in your home may well be lower than the air quality outside! This makes sense. Sure, there is air pollution outside. However, the air outside is not trapped indoors, being recirculated through your HVAC system over and over. While opening up your windows on nice days will help to refresh the air in your home, it typically won’t have a huge effect on boosting air quality.

What Kinds of Problems Are We Talking About?

We obviously prioritize keeping home comfort systems in great working condition. After all, you can’t live comfortably if those systems are not operating at peak performance levels. However, HVAC services in Lakewood really need to include IAQ services if you want to live in the most comfortable environment possible in your home. Low air quality can have serious implications for your comfort, but it can also really have a negative effect on your overall health. Problems associated with poor indoor air quality include:

  • Aggravated allergy and asthma symptoms.
  • Mold growth.
  • Mildew odors.
  • Stale, dry air.
  • Very humid air.
  • Excessive dust and dirt settling on surfaces.
  • Increased instances of static shock.
  • Splitting wooden fixtures and furniture.
  • Wood rot.
  • and a whole lot more!

Yikes, That Sounds Terrible! What Can I Do About It?

We know that it sounds bad—and those symptoms certainly are bad—but we’re not sharing this information with you to frighten you. The fact of the matter is that there are solutions to all of those problems. And when you work with us, you can count on getting the right solutions to the problems that you’re actually facing. We are not going to try and sell you products or systems that you don’t need. There are some contractors out there that will take advantage of your concerns, so be sure that you’re working with pros you can trust. We install and service:

  • Air filtration systems. Remove pollutants from the air circulating throughout your home.
  • Air purifiers. Take a more active approach to cleaning the air. We even install UV air purifiers to combat biological pollutants.
  • Humidifiers. Because very dry air leads to cracked skin, bloody noses, and a lot of other problems.
  • Dehumidifiers. Because too much moisture in the air is every bit as bad as too little!

You deserve to live in a comfortable and healthful environment. The IAQ professionals on our team are here to ensure that this is the case.
