Why Choose Ductless Heating?

Variety may be the spice of life, but there is such a thing as too much variety. Or, at least, it is understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed by variety, particularly if you find yourself faced with a lot of variety in a potentially stressful situation. That may be the case if you’re in need of a new heater unexpectedly. There are a lot of heaters available today, and you need to take the time to find the one that’s right for you!

There’s no need to fret, though. The Whittier, CA heating professionals on our team are here to help you. In fact, we have one suggestion right off the bat—ductless heating! If you have not explored all that ductless heating has to offer, then we also have one question for you—why not? There is a lot that you stand to gain from opting to heat your home with a ductless mini-split.

What Is a Ductless Mini Split?

A ductless mini-split is a heat pump system, but one that does not use air ducts in order to distribute conditioned air throughout the house. Instead, ductless mini splits use wall-mounted blower units that are strategically installed throughout the house in order to condition the rooms in which they are installed directly.

Why Do We Keep Saying “Conditioned?”

Because a ductless mini split isn’t just a heater, so we’re deliberately not saying “heated.” Ductless mini splits are heat pumps and, like ducted heat pumps, they are capable of both heating and cooling homes. That itself is a huge benefit, obviously—but it’s really just the beginning.

What This All Means for You

So, with a ductless mini split system, you get heating and air conditioning in one convenient system. It’s also an incredibly efficient system, though. That’s thanks in part to the elimination of ductwork, meaning there is no risk of leaky ducts wasting energy. It’s also thanks in part to the simple zone control these systems allow for, because each blower is controlled independently of the others.

The reversing valve is really the key to the heating-specific efficiency, though. Rather than creating new heat in order to heat your home, refrigerant evaporates in the outdoor unit to draw heat out of the air in the winter. Then, it is condensed indoors, releasing that heat for incredibly efficient results.

Throw in the fact that ductless systems allow for a higher degree of control over the way in which you heat and cool different areas of your home, and you’ve really got a recipe for home comfort success on your hands! Just remember that you’re only going to get the most out of your ductless mini split if it is installed and serviced by skilled, trained professionals. That is why you should work with the pros on our team! Reach out with any questions that you may have, or if you think that ductless heating and cooling is the right choice for your home.
